Again. Hopefully the torrents for Oh! Edo Rocket aren't dead, as only one or two episodes were subbed when I lost net. I'm currently watching Ghost Hound and Rental Magica. Reading Adventura and Muhyo to Rouji.

Another reason I'm not around much is because I'm working on my website. It's now http://animegerad.com/

It has a forum of course, but a main site, user blogs, shoutbox, gallery, and more. Soon it'll have a fancy radio, single log in for the community and the main part of the site, and IRC channels. I'm currently looking for a content writer/blogger? Free or paid...

Other projects...made a Ghost Hound fanlisting.

Oh! Edo Rocket has finally been subbed. I guess the hype over the harem anime has died down. Only thing that takes getting use to about this anime is how the short old folk look. Their mouths are so large. Well directed and the animation is different. Blue lines are used around the characters.

I can sign in again...!

I don't know why I couldn't before. I upgraded my web forum Netherworld Void http://nwvoid.com/. It's good to not be on a free forum. Invisionfree is worthless. Features stop working and its it's not updated for modern web browsers. Fast reply does not work in IE7, BBcode buttons don't work correctly in alternative browsers, can't see what threads you've replied in anymore, search is busted, etc. Even worse, now Invisionfree doesn't even restore forums anymore, like if a forum was ruined. Apparently because they're working on a new forum software, which isn't at all that special. It'll likely be filled with exploits and bugs when it's finally released. The ACP is too basic and you're still limited to Java-script and HTML. Good job for one of the more popular free forums.

I'm waiting for this one person to make the forum banners, he's a bit busy, but very good. He's made really great quality wallpapers and has great stuff on Animepapers. Talent. I wish I never stopped drawing. In some ways I wish I drew non-stop from early childhood and from there on. I would be good at something. Hajime Ueda and a couple others kinda like him would be how I wish I could do stuff.

Later on this year I'll be making a fan site for a certain manga I like. I also want to add fan listing scripts to it. I know someone who can write up stuff that can be good for a web comic. I just have to find someone to turn it into one. Maybe even some anime or video game reviews. If I have that, it'll be more then just a fan site, as it's not good to be one if you're trying to affiliate with others.

My recent reads would be the Disgaea and Disgaea 2 manga. Laharl's ears stick out too much and all the characters tend to not look right slightly. Needs to look more like the games and anime. I recently saw .hack//Liminality. If a game caused so much trouble and harming kids...they'd shut it down. I only really cared for Dusk for the chibi look and faster pace.

Anyway, enjoy:

http://roxik.com/pictaps/?pid=a42980

Or make your own:

http://roxik.com/pictaps/

Back.

Been busy with my forum and site. Seems Japan gets a lot of great things. I wonder how well it'd do in the states. I better get saving up for one...

Anyway, finally started reading the manga of DNAngel. The anime is okay, but I pretty much love anything from Yukiru Sugisaki. Especially the two Lagoon Engine manga and Pilot Canidate. Rizelmine I'll be seeing soon. Kinda easy to notice when see done stuff for an anime or manga from her. Looking at images or the manga the characters do a lot of one eye winks. I feel slow reading DNAngel now. I know it's still going, but still. Too much anime and manga to see and is one of the reason I don't mind waiting for dubs.

Sick of hearing sub vs. dub.

I so many times hear people only bring one or a few example of bad anime dubs, yet those are ones like One Piece and Naruto. That and the fact that is only a few. Most dubs are actually rather good and they can't be just like the Japanese as it's a different language. I can just bring up stuff like Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi and FLCL as anime a few anime with great dubs. Fansubs you never know how true they are and you run the risk of watching something with bad grammar and spelling. As for the voices, you only know if the voices in the sub/raw are good if you know Japanese really well, as there are some with bad voice overs. If I watch an anime again, I'd watch dubs after the subs/subs after the dubs. I want to see some raw vs. sub fights...

One thing I don't get in some MMORPGs is how they have AI friendly units that you can take with you. Sure they don't go afk or drop, but they're useally braindead and lack the random and chative element that people have. Might as well play single player RPGs. Kinda reminds me how game makers slap on generic multiplayer on single player games. No point?

Aren't cars like the Hummer H2 suppose to be strong? Kinda don't agree. Seems the events that happen, seeing what a character does, and even the how the character is animated makes me grow on a character. Sometimes, intentional or not anime characters do something that make them seem human. It can be for a split second, like an expression or behavior. Even shallow anime or ones that you wouldn't expect sometimes do that.

I tend to not laugh, smirk, or smile at a lot of anime that's suppose to be comedy. I'm amused more by the characters and turn of events after you get to know them. And yes, you can get to know a character in 13 episodes or less...keyword being can. If I want comedy, I'll watch American animation that has more stuff related to current day people/events. Anime for sure has that, but seems it's not focused on in a lot of anime. Peacemaker had an episode of keep away. Good amount of the characters were handing each other and running around the poems that one of the authority figures made. I should go back and see that episode again. Made me feel good for the day. Basically, content matters more then how long it is.

Another thing about Peacemaker, Gonzo is sorta a turn off. A lot of anime from them just looks too similar. Not all and I did like the animation in this. Like the manga, it tends to jump from being sad to light and fun. Btw, the artwork in the Peacemaker manga is great, I'm a huge sucker for rough and sometimes chaotic looking stuff. I don't know of other work from Nanae Chrono that isn't related to this series. ADV need to publish more.

Another thing, there was suppose to be a second movie to one of the deepest anime I've seen. Kino no Tabi/Kino's Journey had a new movie of limited showing in Japan and I haven't heard much since. It has to be a must see, right?

The image being from a novel where Kino is a school girl and nothing at all like the Kino most know.

May later see Sumomomo Momomo? Can't seem to make up which. So much anime out there.

4chan and stuff.

I love going on image upload boards. They're places/communities that share images, though that's kinda a neutral way of looking at them. The people who upload and 'discuss' stuff at such places are useally all wacky, immature, or sick in some way. I pretty much look past that and enjoy collecting the rare/funny/cool images. Their most popular being 'random' where people put stuff that are useally those wacky pics you see on forums and sites. The new stuff pushes out the old instead of a gallery. It keeps things fresh and costs down, as such places don't own the server they have the site on.

Another thing that I may get into more later on, I'm not interested much in the new gen of game consoles. They target 'untapped audiences' and casual players a lot more. I also hear lately they've been making games easier. I'd say before Wii, 360, and PS3 were shown, they still had many people targeting gamers who knew a lot and more willing to play a game more. Games felt more innovative, even if they only had style, but these days companies are going conservitive in not wanting to lose money. By that, I mean making new games is like risk taking and making games is expensive now.

Anyway, Ikaruga was a great and fresh game. (True, the great majority of people who have it never beat it...)

I'm not the one playing above and I didn't create the video.
*Originally from http://www.ikaruga.co.uk/*
Boogiepop doesn't laugh...or dance.

Boogiepop Phantom

Started watching Boogiepop Phantom again, this time dubbed. The trailers sure makes it out to be super bloody and crazy. And I hear the novel is deeper, which I won't hold it against since anime isn't really about plot. That and I prefer to just let good things be. One thing I know some don't like is how the characters don't look too far apart from each other, which is funny considering anime tends to over do that part. >>

The anime is a inconsistent at times. Didn't answer much and the second episode has a guy who eats bad memories that take form of bugs that are on people's chests. I get the part about the chest, but the bugs/spiders just look so silly and out of place. Want to get something off of your chest? <--I'm guessing?

Not an Abe fan, but this is likely the one that I like best that had anything to do with him. I'll likely will watch what little of Brave Police J-Decker I'm able to see or maybe finish Fafner finally.

I use to play Magic the Gathering. Favorite colors is blue and then black. Likely those colors because you can not only play the game, but play your opponent. That's something far harder to do in other games, especially all those collectable card games. I play mostly the older formats, as "Standard" and block formats lack a large card pool and the card creators these days have been trying to fade out my favorite styles of playing and focusing on aggro/combo. With blue you can sit there and prevent all of your opponents spells that'll be trouble for you while saving up for a win condition. Black can have your opponent discard cards and lose resources. Both colors have a weakness to early threats and removal, which is why they have a history of using colorless methods of doing that, especially artifacts.

If anyone wondered what I did for Thanksgiving, I pretty much was asleep. Was actually rather fun, as I had several dreams that left me disoriented after.

Any hints on making this blog more interesting helps, as I haven't really read much blogs/ani-blogs before. I was told Youtube helps.

This season's anime.

May as well share the anime that I've liked so far that recently came out in Japan. I dropped Katekyo Hitman Reborn, it really was stupid. I was trying to think differently, but it really isn't that good of a show. You can check Wiki if such an anime sounds interesting.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch

Likely one of the 'better' anime out of the new season. Character designs are from Clamp, which is a group of all females who are rather known with manga fans. Basically, Japan gets taken over by an empire, Lelouch (the main character) gets the power to take out them out and have revenge. I love characters with purple eys and there are many other characters I like like C.C. She's the green haired one who gave Lelouch his powers. The first episode had characters getting killed and shot already, which was unexpected. o.O

Basically it's a mecha anime that's one huge advertisement for Pizza Hut. There are tons of ads for them in this anime.

Kekkaishi

Click here for a preview and one of the official Japanese sites.
One of the animation directors is Atsuo Tobe, the animation director from Inu Yasha and Blue Seed. I'm not too sure if that's a good thing. Anyway, the two main characters are rivals/old friends who's job is to slay demons/monsters, which is something rooted in their families past. First episode has the two when younger and kinda explains what they do and how, like a guilde, but more interesting. I'd pick up the manga, which is what this anime is based on, but I have reading and buying manga that is too closely. I'm already picky about manga and having to buy or download something I've already seen doesn't seem worth it. FLCL is an example of the manga being different from the anime.

Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo!

It's about a school with special people, Mamoru gets in because he's smart and Ayako is a powerful cold girl who is greatly feared and is...uh...kinda like a weapon? The anime is kinda a romance/comedy where Ayako warms up after she meets Mamoru. Not my favorite, though, it might be if more episodes were fansubbed.

Shounen Onmyouji

The main character is able to see things normal people can't, even without training. I haven't seen much yet, but not every episode is action packed I hear and this clearly isn't apart of the shounen genre. I love some of the music. The opening is done by the great Yuki Kajiura. She's done .hack// and Noir music and the theme song for Loveless. Not the most unknown person.

Anyway, recently I found out that one of the few forums that I ever had a long history on is coming to a close. I'd give a link and ask people to join, but that won't help. The owner isn't as interested in it anymore and doesn't wish to pay for it, as the forum software it's on isn't cheap. Kinda sad. The old Gamers.com is gone and it only leaves me with A4.
